ASBURY PARK ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

Kara and I went to grade school together before she moved to another town. She has always admired my work and has been such a cheerleader for years, which has meant the absolute world to me! When Kara reached out for me to photograph her and Steven’s wedding, I felt so honored! We decided on Asbury Park engagement photos because the aera holds a special place in their story.

Kara and Steven met in high school, but didn’t really connect and start dating until college. These sweethearts truly love just being together and they’ve built a relationship grounded in mutual respect, quality time, and lots of admiration. They’ll go to sporting events together, Steven for the love of the game and Kara for the love of the yummy treats, drinks, and spending time with Steven. They have an adventurous side and share an affinity for travel. They’ve gone white water rafting, skiing, and even sky diving together! Kara and Steven shared that every day right after work they take a walk together with their sweet pup and really just plug into each other after a long day!

NJ ENGAGEMENT LOCATIONS

When it came to their engagement Steven really surprised Kara at no other than Asbury Park! Kara shared that Steven started taking her for a walk down the beach and she kept asking him why they were going that direction. She knew they really needed to be going the opposite direction for their dinner reservations. Finally Steven said “because I’m ready to spend the rest of my life with you” which is when she saw the box, along with a basket of champagne, and glasses and beautiful white orchids!

NJ BEACH ENGAGEMENT

It was so sweet to come full circle once again by taking their engagement photos in Asbury Park which is truly one of my favorite shore towns in NJ! Asbury is such an amazing place with eclectic buildings and artwork, which made for a truly magical day with Kara and Steven!

She instructed us while still making the photos look candid, reliably captured our "good sides," and brought her unique eye for lighting and settings (pro tip: do whatever she says even if it seems funny or in a different location; it will look utterly amazing).
