Rehoboth Beach Surprise Proposal | Delaware Engagement Photographer

Will + Alana, goodness these two are amazing together! Will’s brilliant idea for his Rehoboth Beach surprise proposal took his longtime girlfriend completely by storm.

They’ve been together for 11 years! Their relationship stems back to high school and they’ve endured all sorts of changes together. When I first spoke to Will about all this, he had it all planned out perfectly. I can appreciate that, there’s a subtle art to planning surprise proposals for sure. Rehoboth Beach is one of their favorite places to be, so he knew it had to happen along the sandy shores of Delaware. He booked a stay at the Henlopen Hotel, a beautiful spot perched right on the boardwalk, and carefully planned his Rehoboth Beach surprise proposal.

Alana merely thought they were coming to the beach to look at potential summer homes to buy. Will told her they were going to view a home that morning and had to head out around 9am. Little did Alana know, she was heading out on a walk that would end in a beautiful proposal along the water.

I hid among the umbrellas and other beachgoers and tried to blend as much as I could, while following behind at a safe distance. I mean, someone following you with two big cameras isn’t weird, right? Will finally got down on one knee and popped the question to sweet Alana, and they were so dang excited! She was so surprised to finally see me and didn’t even realize I was there the whole time.

We embraced the harsh light and heat of the morning (it was seriously like 90 degrees already) as we strolled along the beach and boardwalk for some fun engagement pictures. I seriously could have spent all day with these two.

Congratulations Will + Alana!! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness together!

She instructed us while still making the photos look candid, reliably captured our "good sides," and brought her unique eye for lighting and settings (pro tip: do whatever she says even if it seems funny or in a different location; it will look utterly amazing).
