Sayen Gardens Engagement Session | Hamilton, NJ | Cheyenne + Ryan

Cheyenne and I went to high school together back in good ol’ New Egypt, NJ. I photographed her and Ryan back in the fall of last year for fun, and they are amazing to work with and so genuinely happy together. So, when I heard they got engaged, I was ecstatic for them! But when she wanted me to photograph their engagement session, I was thrilled! Their Sayen Gardens engagement session is full of summery flora and plenty of laughter.

I travel back to New Jersey pretty regularly. My family and Josh’s family still lives there, so weekend trips are a staple in our household. We planned around one of my weekends home and it all worked out so well. Thankfully we had a warm, sunny evening for their Sayen Gardens engagement session. They knew they wanted flowers, and I knew Sayen Gardens would be the perfect backdrop for their photos. I actually got married here back in 2015, and it still has the same sweet charm I remember.

It doesn’t take much to get these two laughing together. I’ve said it before and will say it again, if you can make each other laugh like that, it’s definitely meant to be. Laughter is an important piece in love. Plus, you’ll never have a dull moment together.

Rebecca somehow made us both relaxed and produced absolute magic! She instructed us while still making the photos look candid, reliably captured our "good sides," and brought her unique eye for lighting and settings (pro tip: do whatever she says even if it seems funny or in a different location; it will look utterly amazing).
