woodland family session

Woodland Family Session | Killens Pond State Park, Delaware | Calvert Family

It’s always a pleasure photographing the Calvert family. Their woodland family session is one of my favorite family sessions from this year. It’s full of whimsy and beautiful sunlight.

I love this little family and their quirky daughter, who will be welcoming a little brother or sister just before the new year. I’m not sure if little Scarlett realizes how lucky she is to have such a loving mama + papa bear. The photograph of the three of them hugging sticks in my mind whenever I think about true love within a family. Even though Scarlett may test them daily with her strong will and courage, I know they adore her for those traits and every fiber of her being.

And I mean, come on. Look at that angel face! Her outfit is better than how I dress at the age of 24. Rebecca somehow made us both relaxed and produced absolute magic! She instructed us while still making the photos look candid, reliably captured our "good sides," and brought her unique eye for lighting and settings (pro tip: do whatever she says even if it seems funny or in a different location; it will look utterly amazing). Photos can be an investment and I'm glad we did the research and found the perfect photographer for us.
